'The Golden Hour (Part I)' is an abstract exploration of light, texture, and shifting horizons. Inspired by late Impressionists, it pays homage to how light dissolves forms into pure atmosphere, echoing the sun-drenched textures of Monet and the glowing optics of Turner. The painting has two distinct emotional territories: a radiant, heavily textured field of sun-bleached gold and cream colliding against a deep, velvety expanse of rich crimson, filled with thousands of tiny micro-textures.
Executed in multi-layered encaustic, the surface provides a tactile, sculptural quality mimicking heavy impasto brushwork. Note: This is Part I of a diptych. It stands alone beautifully or pairs side-by-side with Part II (available separately) for an expansive narrative.
